The National Weather Service has announced a flash flood warning for burn scars In Monterey County. A warning is issued when flooding is occurring, about to happen or very likely to happen.

The warning was placed for areas near the Dolan, Carmel, Rivera and the Willow burn scar area in Monterey County. The warning will be in place until 8 p.m.
The NWS reported that 2-3 inches of rain have already fallen and an additional 2-3 inches of rain are expected.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.
Never drive through flooded roadways.
