Santa Cruz County late Monday issued evacuation warnings as the atmospheric river storm continues to drench the region. Residents have been advised of possible flooding and mudslides.
The areas of the San Lorenzo Valley and CZU burn scar have received evacuation warnings, according to the county.
Due to severe rainfall, parts of the CZU Burn Scar, Felton Grove and Paradise Park have been placed under an evacuation warning. Monterey County officials on Tuesday downgraded an evacuation order to an evacuation warning for areas off River Road near Salinas as a strong storm system has moved through the region.
The order was issued Monday for areas in danger of debris flow, such as Pine Canyon Road, Trimble Hill, Mesa Road, Manzanita Way, Wildwood Way, Redding Drive, Belmont Circle and the southwest end of Berry Drive.
Evacuation warnings for other areas, including the Dolan Fire burn scar, remain in effect, county officials said.
Monterey County residents are advised to remain vigilant for any debris flows — fast-moving masses of mud, rocks, trees and other items — as weather conditions may change.
In the CZU Lighting Complex burn area in Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties, a flash flood watch will be in place from 7 p.m. Monday through 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Several streams and creeks in the North Bay are also rising significantly, including Napa Creek, Corte Madera Creek and Santa Rosa Creek, the weather service said on social media.
The Santa Rosa Fire Department tweeted a flood watch was in effect until 7 p.m. in the North Bay Interior Valleys and North Bay Mountains.
