The A602 is closed between Stevenage and Watton-at-Stone following reports that severe flooding has disrupted traffic.
Herts Police confirmed that the road is closed on Sunday afternoon (December 26) between Stevenage and Watton-at-Stone due to flooding.
The A602 road links Hitchin and Ware in Hertfordshire, passing through Stevenage. It connects onto both the A10 and A1(M).

Drivers are advised to avoid the area or find alternative routes if travelling between Stevenage, Hertford and Ware.
Herts Police said in a tweet: "The A602 between Stevenage and Watton-at-Stone is currently closed due to flooding. Motorists are advised to avoid the area or find an alternative routes if travelling between Stevenage and Hertford and Ware."

It comes after a flood warning was issued for Hertfordshire by the Environment Agency this morning, with flooding also set to impact areas surrounding St Albans.
In a statement released on the government's website, the Environment Agency warned: "River levels are rising on the Upper River Colne and Radlett Brook as a result of heavy rainfall.
"River levels are expected to remain high Sunday, December 26 and flooding to roads and low lying land will continue."
Heavy rainfall is set to continue throughout the first half of this week, which could cause further traffic disruption.
